Company History

Rivwest Finance was formed in 1996 by professionals concerned at the erosion of economic opportunity in country NSW. This was around the time that large banks were starting to close down their regional branches. They identified that the market needed a trustworthy finance provider that offered a more personalised service, one that Rivwest is now known for. Our original shareholders were mainly based in Wagga Wagga and Western NSW, thus the name Riv (Riverina) and West- Rivwest Finance Limited was born.

The business has grown markedly over the past 26 years and now services most parts of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, well beyond its original inception in the Riverina and Central West. During its 26 years in business Rivwest have supplied $186 million in capital to small businesses, which statistically, has created around 2,000 full time jobs in country NSW. Rivwest currently operate with $200 million funds under management. We have become a public company with approximately 60 shareholders, and representation in Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Temora, West Wyalong, Wollongong and a head office in Dubbo.
